The first thing you need to know before your quinceanera
Before you start planning before you start looking for vendors, places, and anything at all.
You need to decide what kind of quinceanera you want to have, for example:
Would you like to have a quinceanera with a Mass, photo shoots, and a party?
I mean, the whole thing.
Would you prefer to just have a blessing at the reception?
Do you want to have just a party like a reception only?
I have even had Quinceaneras that only have dinner. They get the super pretty quinceanera dress, we do a photo shoot and after that, they just have a super nice dinner with 15 to 20 of their like closest family and friends.
Very important to mention here:
There are no rules when it comes to your quinceanera
For example, there is no rule saying that if you don’t have a Mass it is not a quinceanera or if you don’t do certain traditions if you don’t do certain things, then it’s not a quinceanera. No!
There are no rules you can adjust this to whatever you prefer, whatever you like and a good way to know what you want to do for your quinceanera is ideally by going to other Quinceaneras.
So if your family or your friends are having Quinceaneras, go! See what they do, see what you would like to have for your own quinceanera and what you would not like to do for your own quinceanera.
If you cannot attend a bunch of Quinceaneras before yours then I recommend you to watch videos so you can get a good idea of what happens at a Quinceanera.

The second thing that you need to know before your quinceanera
The budget!
Of course, the budget is super, super important.
You need to define exactly or as close as possible to what you can actually, realistically spend on a quinceanera, and you need to do it before your Quinceanera.
Don’t say I am going to spend ten thousand in the quinceanera and then start booking all the stuff for like a 30 k event. Be very realistic when you are planning.
Your budget is going to depend a lot on different things, like if you decided you wanted to have a quinceanera two years before or if you decided six months before.
I have had parents who tell me they have been saving for the quinceanera for years, like years.
Another recommendation when it comes to a budget: be prepared to spend a little bit more than what you thought.
Because there are going to be a lot of things that will come up, last minute details. I cannot even tell you precisely, exactly what because this also depends on trends.
Personally, I remember in my own family we are four girls and we all had a Quinceanera so my parents had some experience.
I do remember my dad being like, I just want to have cash ready and the cards ready just in case we need more. Or if something happens and we end up needing more money than we thought. I just want to be prepared beforehand.
The third thing that you need to know before your quinceanera
The third think to know before your Quinceanera is that you are going to plan, plan and plan some more on top of all that planning.
Because planning a quinceanera is not an easy, simple thing to do.
There are so many things to take into account, even if you decide to do something small. And of course the bigger your party is the more scheduling, planning, and coordinating everything that you will have to do.
So be prepared, yes planning a quinceanera does require a lot of work but don’t worry because I have a lot of free resources for you!

One thing that I want you to know before your Quinceanera is that, even if you plan everything, if you have everything scheduled, if you have done your timelines, if you have everything very, very, very carefully planned out.
Just know that things will not always come out as planned. Some things can happen so have some wiggle room and give yourself some grace.
