We are at the 2 month mark before your Quinceanera and those are the things that you will need to take care of:

FINAL MEETINGS WITH QUINCEANCERA VENDORS

Schedule and get through with all the final meetings with your vendors. Final meetings are to refine details and to make sure that everything is still the same.

Because take into account that you probably booked all of your vendors maybe a year or 10 months ago and sometimes things can change.

FINAL DRESS FITTING

Schedule your final fitting for your dress to make any final adjustments. By now you already know exactly what shoes you’re gonna wear so maybe they can adjust the length of your dress to make sure your dress fits perfectly for the day of your Quinceanera.

PRE QUINCEANERA PHOTOSHOOT

2 months before your Quinceanera, it’s time to do your pre quinceanera photo shoot. Specially if you want to have a picture at the entrance of the Hall.

This is also the perfect occasion to do your hair and makeup trial so you can actually see how the hair that you choose and the makeup that you choose it’s going to look like with your dress for the day of your Quinceanera.

Because, trust me on this one, you do NOT want to try your hairdo or your makeup for the first time on your Quinceanera day. Because if you don’t like it and you wait until the Quinceanera day to find that out, it’s going to be super stressful, you’re gonna end up running late,  you’re gonna be upset and there’s no need for any of that.

It’s also the perfect opportunity to see how your makeup is gonna look when we use the lights on the photo shoot.

You can also take notes like let’s do a different lipstick color or I don’t like the eye shadow or maybe you wanted to do like an updo and you realize that it looks better with your hair down or maybe the other way around.

TIMELINES

At this point you will also want to do your timelines. 2 months before your Quinceanera you should have a pretty good idea of how te day is going to look like.

I recommend having two timelines for the day of your Quinceanera:

QUINCEANERA TIMELINE – WHOLE DAY

The first one is going to be a timeline for the whole day. On this timeline you are going to set the times like:

At what time you need to get up

At what time is the hair and makeup person coming to  your place or you are going to their place

At what time are you going to start the getting ready with your photographer and videographer

At what time is the party bus or limo coming to pick you up

At what time you have to be at church

At what time is the photo shoot

All those things and more that you are going to be doing throughout the whole day. If you have no idea how to make one or what you need to take into account to make one click here to watch the video.

QUINCEANERA TIMELINE – RECEPTION ONLY

The other timeline for your Quinceanera is going to be a timeline for the reception only. This is going to be a detailed timeline where you are going to set times for:

At what time you are going to do your entrance

At what time you are serving dinner

At what time you are doing the Traditions or cutting the cake

All those things need to be taken into account and of course I have a video for you on that topic too. If you have no idea how to make a timeline for your reception click here to watch the video or click here for the blog post.

ONE MONTH BEFORE

We are moving on to the one month before your Quinceanera and this is what you need to do.

FINAL ADJUSTMENTS AND/OR UPGRADES

My recommendation here is to make any adjustments or upgrades that you need with your vendors. Ideally by this time you have already booked all the vendors and you know exactly how much you are going to spend.

Maybe you realize that there’s a little bit of wiggle room and you can do an upgrade to something that you really wanted.

For example like with the DJ you want to have like screens all around showing your pictures or you actually can afford to have a stuntman or something like that now it’s the time to do all those tiny upgrades.

If by now you figure out that you have the budget for a guest book or now that you have seen your Pre quinceanera pictures; you want to have a big picture.

FINAL RSVP

You will want to confirm your guest list, this is going to be hard because sometimes people tell you they are going to be there but life happenes and they can’t make it.

I mean it’s really, really hard to have a precisely exact count. But you want it to be as exact as possible.

SITTING CHART

Once you get confirmations of who is coming and who is not coming. You will want to start with your sitting chart, if you want to do one.

Not everyone does one, some people just want to let their guests sit wherever they want but if you want to have a sitting chart now is the time to start working on it.

SPEECHES

It’s also a good time to start working on your speech. You don’t have to say a lot, you can just say a few words, you can just say thank you. Not all Quinceaneras have a written speech and you definitely don’t have to have one.

WEEKS BEFORE YOUR QUINCEANERA

This is the final stretch, just a couple of weeks before your Quinceanera. Hopefully by this time you already have like at least 95 to 98 percent of the whole planning done.

The only thing you will need to do now is: go through your checklist, make sure that all the vendors know at what time they’re starting and where they have to be

Same thing with your court and with your Padrinos, let them know at what time and where they have to be on the day of the Quinceanera. This is extremely important because you don’t want to be running late on your Quinceanera day because one Dama was late or a Chambelan forgot he had to show up the photo shoot.

You have to remind them, you have to let them know where do they have to be and at what time you want them there.

TAKE SOME TIME OFF IF POSSIBLE

If possible, I highly recommend; especially if you are the Quinceanera’s mom and you are the one planning everything and you are the one who has to be on top of every single detail.

If it is possible for you, take some time off work especially on the week of the Quinceanera. I know not everyone can just take time of work but if you can I highly recommend it.
